The 2025 CHA annual membership and election meeting will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 am. at the clubhouse with optional Zoom attendance provided. Look for the invitation to join the Zoom meeting on the owner’s page of the CHA website.
Zoom participants will be able to view the proceedings, and share comments, but will not be able to vote. No voting via Zoom.
This year’s election packet includes the following:
- Board of Directors Election Ballot and return envelope
- 2025/2026 CHA Budget
- 2025/2026 CHA Budget Ballot
- 2026 Dues Increase Proposal Ballot
- Candidate Profiles
- Proxy form
We need a minimum of twenty percent (20%) of the outstanding membership votes, in good standing, represented either in person or by proxy in order to form a quorum, open the meeting and conduct business (approximately 100-105 voting lots). A proxy form is enclosed. If unable to attend, consider giving your proxy to a friend who is. Your proxy will count towards establishing the quorum.
Members must be in good standing to cast a ballot. Every lot is entitled to 1 vote. 50% split lots can be voted as ½ vote. For split lots where a member has more than 50% ownership of the lot, that owner shall maintain the full right to vote the whole lot.
Complete your ballots and the self-addressed return envelope as instructed. The ballot envelope will be validated with the current membership roll as of the date of this mailing at the annual meeting. The privacy of your vote will be maintained. Your vote for Board of Directors is anonymous. After all other business by the Board of Directors has been recognized and completed a recess will be called to count the votes. When the meeting reconvenes the newly elected Board of Directors will be presented.
There is no cumulative voting. All submitted sealed ballots mailed to the P.O. Box will be opened the day of the ballot counting by a volunteer ballot counting committee. Return the ballot envelope with only your completed ballots enclosed. Do not include any other CHA correspondence in the ballot envelope.
There are 3 ways to submit your vote. All three methods must be returned in a sealed envelope with the owner’s name and quantity of lots owned declared.
- Turn in the sealed envelope with the ballot at the annual mtg to be held on May 24, 10am [or rain date May 25, 10am].
- Mail your ballots (directors and budget/dues) in the enclosed envelope to CHA Elections, P.O. Box 819, Northport, Mi 49670. Mailed ballots must be received in the CHA P.O. Box by Friday, May 23th, to be counted.
- You can vote by designating a proxy representative. Proxy representatives must provide the completed Ballot envelopes.
Ballot and envelope format can be downloaded from the owners section.
