The Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network is conducting surveys in our area of Leelanau looking for eastern hemlock trees and the presence of hemlock woolly adelgid. This invasive species is an aphid-like insect that situates themselves at the base of hemlock needles and feed off the trees’ nutrient supply, eventually killing the tree.

The Landowner Consent form gives the network employees permission to enter and cross your property as part of the survey.
