Thanks to All the Volunteers!
Thanks to everyone who took part in the Spring Workday on Saturday, May 15! We accomplished a lot:
South Beach:
- releveled and tighten cabled boardwalk path
- removed/replaced rotten walkway boards – improved overall safety of boardwalk
- moved the grill from the waters edge to a more suitable location
- installed a 6 place kayak ‘tree’ storage rack
- leveled ground and moved picnic table to suitable location near kayak rack and walkway
- leveled ground and moved deck and seating area to end of walkway
- relocated South Beach beachside kiosk, *** need to update information and laminate in the future
- removed garbage and rotten boards
Central Beach:
- adjusted and re-leveled 2-tier kayak racks to uncover from sand
- removed misc. garbage
Clubhouse Park:
- installed a 6 place kayak ‘tree’ storage rack [south of volleyball court]
- turned on the clubhouse power for internet installation this week
- turned on clubhouse water, after fixing the plumbing leak, purged air from water lines
- repaired drain valve on the water heater
- installed 3 new fire extinguishers – replacing the existing ones dated 1996
- reviewed a plan to shorten the current 4 tier kayak rack. [needed more manpower to cut and safely split the rack into 2 shorter racks]
- need to figure out where to store or reinstall extra walkway that was removed last year – future project
- removed misc. garbage on beach and in park
- placed garbage can outside behind clubhouse.
North Park:
- moved 20ft 12″ culvert to North Park drainage ditch, reviewed a plan to install and bury at a later date, and remove current PVC improvised plumbing, [[will need mechanized equipment [D. Ray to possibly assist??], or lots of manpower with shovels to widen and deepen the existing channel to the bay to bury and cover the culvert pipe]
- added 4ft 12″ culvert extension – donation from Greg Stratton
- reviewed a plan to install a future 6 place kayak ‘tree’ storage rack with neighbors [Babcock/Stratton]
